A milestone JANZSSA edition: Volume 33, Issue 2 out now!

Wednesday 29, Oct 2025

The Journal of the Australian and New Zealand Student Services Association (JANZSSA) team are thrilled to present Volume 33, Issue 2!

Introduced by Editor-in-Chief Caroline Rueckert PFHEA (Griffith University) in her aptly-titled editorial, Who Speaks, Who Listens, Who Belongs, 33(2) features JANZSSA’s inaugural Voices From the Field article and an invited opinion piece by Voices From the Field pioneer Alison Cook-Sather (Bryn Mawr College).

Complementing these discussions, a rich collection of articles deepens our understanding of critical issues for student wellbeing, participation, and success:

  • Supporting Student Diversity: Evaluation of an LGBTIQ+ Ally Training Program at a Regional Australian University by Gemma Mann and Ann-Marie Priest (CQUniversity)

  • The Influence of Cultural and Environmental Factors on Patterns of Alcohol Consumption Amongst Tongan Males Enrolled at the University of Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand by Donald Toutai, Linda Palavi, and Vili Nosa (University of Auckland)

  • Culture, Change, and Relationship: Successful Collaboration Between Student Affairs and Academic Affairs by Susan Corner and Cindy Holder (University of Victoria, Canada)

  • Beyond Information Sessions: Transforming the International Student Welcome Experience by Alessandro Sereni (University of Adelaide)

  • A Critical Look at Tertiary Chaplaincy: Reassessing its Purpose for the 21st Century in the Australian Context by Joanna Thyer (University of Technology Sydney)
